Leader mentions drama ‘Midday Adventures’

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has lauded political drama ‘Midday Adventures’ featuring terrorist violence of MKO in Iran in the 1980s.

Meeting with the film cast and crew on February 20, the leader said “This film was very good. Everybody played his part very well; the directing was great, the acting was very good. The plot was great. It was a well-made film.”

The Islamic Revolution Document Center published the quoted remarks on Saturday.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution had watched the movie beforehand at a private screening in February 2017.

Directed by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian, ‘Midday Adventures’ received the best film award at the 35th edition of the Fajr Film Festival in February 2017.

It has also grabbed the audience Crystal Simorgh, the award for best film from the national point of view, as well as the Crystal Simorgh for best set and costume design.

‘Midday Adventures’ chronicles parts of a real event, depicting the activities by MKO that led to assassination of several high-ranking Iranian officials in 1981, and the counter-actions by Iranian intelligence services and armed forces to contain them.

MKO (Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization) is an Iranian political–militant organization in exile that carried out numerous terrorist attacks in the 1980s in order to overthrow the new Iranian government of the time.
